The Diocese of Down and Connor is making great efforts to improve the standards of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. In order to ensure improvements were made a safeguarding office was set up for the Diocese of Down and Connor and was initially developed in 2003, from this the Diocese requested that each parish should have a Parish Safeguarding Committee (formerly known as Child Care Committees) and therefore a Safeguarding Committee was established in the Parish of Saul and Ballee. The ethos behind the establishment of Safeguarding Committees was to ensure that parishes were engaged in the promotion of safe child care practices and protection of vulnerable adults in all parish related activities involving children, young people and vulnerable adults with a shared responsibility between priests and laity.
Membership of Saul and Ballee Parish Safeguarding Committee
